Meet Christina and the Three Things I Love About Calgary
Hi everyone! Welcome to the shiny, new, Teatime Circus, featuring a new look and some fresh content.
For those of you who are just joining in, let me introduce myself. My name’s Christina, I’m a born-and-raised Calgarian with a love of exploring and trying new things. Like many people in Calgary, I have a full time job in the energy industry and spend a lot of my days exploring downtown. I’m also the co-owner of a creative agency, meaning I get to stay connected to our emerging technology scene and get to meet a lot of amazing entrepreneurs and startups.
Teatime Circus has always been a blog about things that I liked, and the name comes from two very British things that I identify with closely. In Calgary, a lot of business and socializing begins with a cup of coffee and when you meet someone for the first time or if you want to catch up, it’s usually over a coffee. As a non-coffee drinker, coffee dates always become tea dates, and so for me, meeting people and sharing new ideas was better done at teatime. A circus refers to a traffic circus, or a traffic circle, as we’d call it on this side of the pond. Though traffic circles can be kind of annoying, I really liked this idea of a lot of roads leading to one central connection, like ideas revolving around one central hub. Hence “Teatime Circus” to me is a place for sharing lots of ideas around one central hub.
The trick has always been to find what that central hub is. Through my last year of blogging, I’ve learned a lot about myself, and what I find a lot of purpose doing, and I’m grateful for all of the opportunities I had being a lifestyle blogger. It allowed me to see and meet some amazing people in Calgary and Canada, go to some amazing events, and be a part of something wonderful. I’m grateful for and to all of the people I’ve met on my journey so far because they’ve opened up my eyes to a world that I would never have seen if I had just stayed a 9-to-5 office worker.
As I change, so does the central hub for my blog, and today, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you all for sticking with me. This year, I
